Modernism

We are beginning a new unit on modernism in literature.

American Modernism

Welcome to the world of American Modernism - you'll notice a drastic change in the style, tone, subject, and literary technique as we move from romantic era writing (transcendentalists!) and into the modern era.  Modernism's impact on American literature is most noticable between, roughly, the great world. We'll begin the unit by looking at modern poetry (one of my favorite eras!), then shift into The Great Gastby and finish the unit with Anthem.

As our first assignment and an introduction for the unit, I want you to google search modernism and bring in an article or link to an interesting article here on my blog for tomorrow. Remember NO WIKIPEDIA! Look for sources that are researched, or organization with academic reputations. We will be using these in groups, so be prepared to share your article with the class.

Happy searching! Welcome to the world of modernism!
